2. Premiere of the "Pastoralen
Vorspiels" already 1995 ?!
Until today we thought
that Rott's "Pastorales Vorspiel" had its premiere
in 2000.
But it looks as if it
has been played for the first time already on March
26th, 1995 in the Barbican Centre. As far as
we know it has been performed by the London Symphony
Orchestra and Michael Tilson Thomas. Supposedly
they played as well the Scherzo from Rott's Symphony
No. 1.
Is there anyone who can give
more details on this performance?
3. New Artikel
concerning Hans Rott
The feature of the German
"neue musikzeitung" (issue August/September) deals with
Hans Rott:
„Von dem Manne werden Sie noch Großes hören“
- Der Wahnsinnige und seine Symphonie: die
Tragödie des Bruckner-Schülers Hans Rott
A very interesting article
written by Erwin Horn.
